I'd like to write on Beatles Rock Band and what we can learn from it.

The Next Generator: B-movies

Posted by Steven Savage on September 16, 2009

I know I started it ages ago – and decided to re-start it to tackle it in a more organized manner.  Some results:

  • Assignment: Justice
  • The Abominable Adventures of the Scorpion-Women
  • The Adventures of the Piranah-Person
  • The Amazing Teacher
  • The Asylum of Elizabeth Bathroy
  • The Evil Amphibian Person
  • The Impossible Adventures of Joan of Arc
  • The Psychic Man
  • The Saint Louis Evil
  • The Wonder of Canada

I think it's got a good feel so far – and there's more to come.  I'm taking "The Psychotronic Encyclopedia" and going through it to find common movie title patterns.

It's a bit of heavy effort, but worth it.

Contest entries!

Posted by Steven Savage on September 15, 2009

It keeps going – and is it just me, or are folks digging the horror mixes?

This one is a little slower than the last, but we’re still getting high quality of art and ideas. I think next contest I’ll try something different (if my new generator gets done . . .)

concerned in the wake of Harry Potter, and to a lesser extent Twilight,
there's going to be efforts to duplicate the success of the same – with
dismal results.  I already see people accused of being derivative of
Stephanie Myer when they clearly weren't.  I see a lot of imitators of
the above people, and little of the passion.

So what are people waiting for?  What's the next big thing (or small thing that feels big)  What does it need?

Synergy.  Three kinds in fact.
